   Cost will depend on what size of an operation you want to build; how easy it is to access the heat (for example, how far down do you need to dig). But is it affordable? Sure it is. Unlike coal or oil power plants, you don’t need to keep buying more fuel to keep your power plant running. The electricity you generate should be able to run your plant’s pumps with over 90% left over for use.

   Geothermal energy is much cheaper than any fossil fuel system and is being used on a large scale in Iceland. It is clean. Emits no CO2. Works without the sun and with no wind. It uses well known technology.
