what types of alternate sources of energy is there?

i know the basic types of alternate sources of energy such as solar panels, wind turbines, tidal power, geothermal, hydro dams, and solar ponds. i was looking for something unique because im participating in a confrence for alternate energy and need help anything orginal would help.

some of the ways i know how to save energy are:
land fill gases used for energy
wind power
solar power
wave energy
are there any others? what are they?

Are there U.S. federal tax advantages or rebates for using wind power? Does Illinois have tax advantages or rebates for using wind power? What are the required average wind speeds for Chicago and other areas to successfully use wind power?

I’m doing a report in science on alternative energy, but it cannot be on solar, wind, or hydroelectric energy. Is tidal different enough from hydroelectric? Tidal uses large turbines, and hydroelectric uses dams.
